In the brief time we spent there, Milan didn’t live up to its image of being at the center of European fashion. We saw little that set it apart from the other shopping districts we’d seen elsewhere in Europe. The only exception was the extravagant size of billboards we ran into every now and then. But this seemed more like propaganda than real substance.
